About Jenni
I first began regular yoga practice when pregnant with my first child and have been hooked ever since. I love the way yoga makes me feel inside and out. Yoga is energising, builds strength, physical fitness and flexibility and a sense of wellbeing and calm that travels beyond the mat. In our hectic lives we rarely find enough time to look after and nurture ourselves. Yoga provides a much needed opportunity to stop and reset, taking time to quieten the mind and find peace within. Yoga is not competitive, it’s not about how you look. It’s all about how you feel.
Over the years I have explored a number of different styles of yoga (Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Power, Hatha, Yin). I’ve been inspired by many teachers to whom I am forever grateful. Yoga has become a part of daily life and one of my biggest passions. After over 15 enjoyable, exciting and often tiring years in the corporate world, I decided to make a change and pursue my yoga dream full time. I completed my Yoga Alliance 200 hour teacher training with Corrie McCallum at Yoga London who is an inspirational teacher. It was an amazing and rewarding experience. I am also a Yoga Alliance certified pregnancy yoga teacher and I am in the process of completing my Yoga Alliance 500 hour advanced teacher training. For me yoga is a lifelong learning journey. I am passionate about sharing my love of yoga and helping others to experience the benefits for body, mind and spirit.
My style
Inspiration for my teaching draws upon the various styles of yoga I enjoy practising and the influence of my past and on-going Ashtanga Vinyasa training. I mainly teach Vinyasa Flow, which can be described as a moving meditation by linking asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and drishti (gaze). It creates an opportunity to be in the present moment through the sheer joy of moving the body.
I tailor my classes to the specific needs of my students to help them reach their personal goals whatever they may be. Classes can be dynamic, powerful, invigorating or a gentler more restorative flow and anything in between. Working one to one and in small groups with clients enables me to personalise the practice. I passionately believe everyone can benefit from yoga when taught mindfully and with a focus on safe alignment. Yoga is about adapting the pose for the individual body and not the other way around.
